How it works:
Organizing,
completing and selling your mosaic is straight forward and fun
to do!
You can complete the process in as few as nine weeks.
These are the simple steps you can expect after contracting
with Faces for Fundraising.
1. Estimate
your number of participants
Generally,
this is for groups of 400 - 3,000 participants.
Depending
on your number of participants, we'll design your Self
Portrait form
with 1-4 drawing squares.
The
goal is to generate between 1600 and 2,500 drawings (visual
data squares)
The
detail of the image is what will decide how many drawings
we'll need.
If
you have a smaller population of participants, your self
portrait form may have up
to 3 additional spaces on which to collect more visual data
from each participant, such a
a decorated name square, something you are grateful to God for or other simple drawings
based on a
predetermined theme.
CASE EXAMPLE: One
congregation had their participants go through a simple
exercise where they listed 5 things they were grateful to God
for, then they each drew on one of them, generating more
visual data squares from each participant and bringing more
meaning to their mosaic!
We'll design the right drawing form for you with the proper structure
to ensure success.
Helpful tips: Ask
every member and visitor of your church to participate. Enlist
participants to involve extended family members, friends,
neighbors and co-workers. If you are a smaller church, perhaps
you can unite with others in the area forming a creative
unity.

2. Choose
your source image
Choose
a design relevant to your organization such as a symbol, logo,
building or mascot.
You
have the option to choose a second mosaic image to represent
your surrounding city.
With
a landmark or locally celebrated building your market broadens
outside your school members to include your community, city or
region! People don't have to be in the mosaic
to identify and buy the community image. This can bring bigger
profits.
Helpful tips: What image will appeal to your group? Is it a
logo, mascot or picture of the church building? Is it a symbol
that conveys an idea?
What image could you choose that will appeal to your members
and to the entire community? Churches and temples are often
architecturally significant, making this an appealing mosaic
for community members. OR- consider a stained glass scene as
your final mosaic.
You will be required to take digital pictures of the person,
place or thing you want your mosaic to represent, using the
highest resolution setting you have available. Take a few
different angles and different depths and lighting situations
to provide choices.
If your mosaic is a logo, you'll send us the digital file of
the graphic image. Either way,
we will work with you to ensure successful source images.

3.
Create your self portraits (& other drawings) on our official
form
All
drawings must be on the special Self Portrait Response Form©.
This
form provides simple instructions to ensure successful
results.
You
will receive your form via email as a PDF file within 5 days
after we receive the completed contract and initial payment.
Duplicate
and distribute the Self Portrait Response Form.
Give
participants a few different opportunities to draw to maximize
participation.
You
have the freedom to run the interactivity - so make it fun for
everyone and provide a structure that will help complete the
task.
Complete
and collect the drawings over a 2 week timeframe.
Faces
can be created in 10-25 minutes.
Use
BOTH Crayons & Markers to ensure variety
Helpful tips:
The simple activity of
creating a face will bring out the child in everyone. Anyone
can do this, regardless of skill level. It doesn't matter how
the drawing unfolds: two eyes, a nose and a mouth and color
the background - it's that easy!
This practical activity nourishes the seeds of creativity we
all possess. Faces need not be realistic; they can be
abstract, cartoon-like, realistic, whimsical or stick figured.
People are encouraged to think about how they look, or how
they want to make themselves appear, and then get creative!
It's all about participation, not perfection.
Explain what the drawings will be used for; once people
understand that the mosaic image will be made from their faces
they will become even more excited about it. Remind them it's
not about being perfect, it's about participation.
Invite everyone who impacts your organization to complete
their portraits too- breaking down barriers and bringing
inclusion to more people.
No one's drawing will be judged as better or worse then
another. Creating the mosaic raises each of us up to an equal
place in creativity. Everyone's participation is valued; each
person is an important part of the creation of this
fascinating artwork. All drawings will be used!

4. Mail
back your faces and receive your products
Once
we receive all your drawings, we will begin creating the
digital mosaic file(s).
Mail
the drawing forms back, try to keep them all facing the same
direction and in one or two boxes.
It
generally takes 3-4 weeks for us to complete your mosaic,
create and package your products and bulk ship them to your
organization.
Face to face sales of pre-purchased product works best,
because your buyers won't pay tax or shipping.
We also offer the option of an online fundraiser; if
interested, ask us about this when you call.

5.
Fundraise
Sell
face to face at the church, buyers won't pay tax or shipping.
Take
orders for additional matted prints, note cards or holiday
cards
for pick up on a Saturday or Sunday.
Reorders
take 2-3 weeks
Helpful tips: Your organization can purchase additional
product to sell at other times of the year. Purchase a large
print for your lobby, main office or auditorium. Have cards
created for outreach initiatives and special thank you notes.
Later in the year, have us make a holiday greeting card pack
to get more out of your fundraiser.
